EAP Critical Incident Response is a distinct specialty.

 

Most CIR/CISM practitioners have not been adequately trained to deliver CIR at all workplaces representing an EAP. Many are not aware that they are operating inefficiently.

 

The EAP industry accountable for it.

For too long EAP professionals have been trying to convince themselves that any crisis intervention/trauma response model is good enough to service what might have been an employee's worse day. Certainly not a good one for the organization. And guess what- as long as practitioners don't make mistakes, natural sources of resilience will win the day. Sure, we can take credit for it.
